We are very pleased to hear that the new building at the Royal Sussex Hospital is to be named after one of Brighton’s great pioneering women doctors, Louisa Martindale. Val Brown, one of our founder members, wrote the book “Women’s Hospitals in Brighton and Hove “ which includes the life and work of Louisa, her mother and sister. This book is available through Amazon.

We will keep you informed about the official opening of the new building as we continue to celebrate the recognition of women’s contribution to our city.
