A sculptor’s brief to commission a new piece of public art of the Dr Elsie Inglis statue was launched on Thursday 28th July 2022.
This will be the first statue of a woman on The Royal Mile which currently boasts a dozen honouring men.
The ‘a life-and-a-tenth’ size bronze statue of Dr Inglis will be sited at 219 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1PE at the original site of the hospice.
