Update! BHWHG attended Portslade History Day- and what a day it was! There was a great turn out and we gave our talk as planned- we received lots of positive feedback. We had our stall and, met new people interested in our work who signed up for our newsletter to receive information about our upcoming events. We also sold a few of our books, Volume 1 and Volume 2 Women of Brighton and Hove An Anthology- a successful day all round!

Information about Portslade History Day:
Now in its fourth year, this free, family-friendly event includes medieval art, battle re-enactments, a medieval camp, costume activities for childrenand hands-on history stalls. Local history enthusiasts can enjoy short talks and guided heritage walks led by historians and writers. BHWHG members will also give a talk on Notable Women of Brighton which will be a discovery and history on women of the past 200 years who have made their mark on the city in a variety of different ways…some names will be more familiar than others, but their impact will be known to all. The talk will include the origins of the group and the reasons it was set up.
